How do I translate films using Amara?

• Select your Amara film link

  You will see a page that looks like this:
  
  
  
  
  

• Click on “Add/Edit subtitles”

  Select the correct language you want to add to translate the subtitles for. 
  
  
  

   

• Translating and publishing your subtitles 
  

  1. On the left-most section, you can choose to turn on another language's subtitles for reference. We have uploaded the English subtitles for most films.
  
  2. Input your translations below the film as it plays. 
  
  3. After you have completed that, on the rightmost section, click on "Yes, start syncing" where you can sync up your subtitles with the timing of the audio.
  
  4. Once you've completed syncing, you can also choose to "Edit title and description" if you will like to translate those too.
  
  5. Please input your name (e.g. translated by Sq) in the box at the bottom right corner of the page that says "Post New Note".
  
  6. You will be able to see the blue "Publish" button above. Click on that and you are done!
